Davis Originals is proud to present 'Of Past and Present', an exclusive solo exhibition by Robert Minervini.

In this exhibition, artist Robert Minervini utilizes colorful and ghostly silhouetted objects to conflate relationships between foreground and background, interior and exterior, and notions of past and present. By simultaneously alluding to and circumventing traditional modes of representation, Minervini questions our understanding of visual perception and hierarchy in the still-life and landscape genres. Objects from various cultural origins are casually placed in close proximity, often against a sublime landscape, creating an association of collective importance and impermanence. Through a combination of stenciling techniques, airbrushing, and screen printing, some of these objects are heavily rendered while others are depicted as smooth and subtle gradients. Minervini has exhibited his work nationally in museums and galleries and is held in the collections of the San Jose Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the San Francisco Arts Commission Public and Civic Art Collection, as well as many private and corporate collections. Robert lives and works in Oakland, California.
